Here is what I’ve been working on these past couple months when not working on a watercolor painting.

This is the ‘Daughters In Charcoal’ series. Five 24” x 30” charcoal on paper renderings of the most beautiful and intelligent daughters to be found anywhere.

Wow, what an honor. I couldn’t be more pleased than to have my painting “Zapata Falls” awarded 2nd place in the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society’s annual members exhibition. A lot of talented artists are represented and some beautiful work is on display. It was a good evening.

The exhibit will be on display through January 13, 2026 and a second artists reception will be held on January 8 from 5:00 to 8:00.

I completed this painting in October and hadn't posted it until now. Based on a photo I had taken two years earlier when attending a family reunion, it transports me back to the Mississippi River and my youth.

Good Morning, Miss is currently on display along with five other of my original watercolor paintings at the Gold Hill Mesa Community Center in Colorado Springs, as part of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society Annual Members Show. It will be on display through the end of January 2026. I hope you can join me at one of two receptions on Dec 11, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 and Jan 8, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00.

It’s a beautiful morning in Manitou Springs. I’m set up at the Commonwheel Arts Festival and the people are already strolling through. I’m in a wonderfully shaded spot along Fountain Creek.

The festival goes for three day concluding on Monday. Come on down for some music, food, fun , and some great art.

It has been a while since my last post. I completed the second of two large watercolor paintings in mid July, following my first art festival of 2025 earlier that month. Combined with job pressures that continue to escalate, I hit a wall. I needed a break.

I haven’t painted in several weeks. But i havent stopped creating. The thing that keeps me grounded is art. To that end I’ve been focused on drawing, on taking time to see.

I prepare for what is next. I prepare for oils. I prepare to take the time to see.
