This beaded Crow leather dress, and its accessories were given to Torian Donohoe as a surprise thank you gift by Clara Nomee for Torian's work on the 107th Meridian case that clarified the southern boundary of the Crow Lands.

The dress is on display in MOB's 'Baaxawuaashalíiko' - Rosebud Absarokee Crow Agency 1875-1884 exhibit.

All aboard for a little Montana railroad history!

Caboose #1127 was built in 1962 and originally operated on the Northern Pacific Railway out of Missoula. After the Northern Pacific became part of Burlington Northern in 1970, the caboose traveled throughout the Burlington Northern system.

In 1987, the Museum of the Beartooths began working to acquire a caboose. After two years of negotiations, Burlington Northern donated #1127 to the Museum, with the condition that it be restored to its original Northern Pacific markings and paint scheme. The caboose arrived in Columbus in 1989 and was carefully restored over the next two years.

Today, Caboose #1127 is part of the Museum's outbuilding area and offers visitors a glimpse into Montana's railroad history.

Our outbuilding area, including the caboose, will remain open this fall until the weather sets in. Visitors of all walks of life enjoy touring the caboose. Come visit the outbuilding area while you can!
