Congrats to co-founder Meri Wallace on the design and installation of our second native garden in Crested Butte. This is located in front of the historic depot at 716 Elk Avenue. Swing on by and learn about some of our native plants.
Have you seen the new Depot Garden?! 🤩 Experience the amazing native flowers that bring hummingbirds up close for sightings and other wonders that can happen in our flourishing garden at the Historic Train Depot, 716 Elk Ave!
Thanks to a $2,000 grant from The People and Pollinators Action Network ( )‘s Protect Our Pollinators Habitat Fund, over the past year, the CBWF has been hard at work with and the Crested Butte Parks and Recreation to transform 900 square feet of the Depot's grounds into a vibrant demonstration garden featuring native wildflowers, pollinator-friendly plants, interpretive signage, and seasonal color that bring the Festival's mission to life year-round. 🥰
Having this project come to fruition is a great success for our organization, our community, and our environment. We hope this installation will inspire visitors & residents to make changes in their own landscapes that will support our pollinators and ecosystems. What better way to mark our 40-Year Anniversary than with a lasting gift from the community FOR the community😍
Thank you for your support (both through financial donations and time volunteering), which has helped turn this space into a year-round celebration of wildflowers, extending our mission beyond the Festival week, inspiring stewardship, and ensuring the beauty and ecological importance of native plants remain part of our community for generations to come!
