Jasmine Renee Parker is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Her passion and background in creative writing and public speaking started at an early age when an elementary school teacher took interest in her work. She was frequently chosen to do speeches at school events including student council campaigns, plays, and graduations. Her senior year she enrolled in the InsideOut Literary Arts program, “City
wide Poets”. While in this program, Jasmine found a new talent in spoken word and would frequently attend poetry competitions and open mic nights. Her first spoken word competition was the Poetry Slam at The Max at the Allesee Rehearsal Hall, where she placed in the top 5 (the only child amongst other adults). Shortly after, she was published in InsideOut’s annual anthology “Fresh Ink”. Jasmine later attended school at Bowling Green State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a focus in print journalism and broadcast journalism and a minor in popular culture, creative writing, and public relations. During her college years she interned for a PR firm, enrolled in the National Association for Black Journalists (NABJ), and served as a weather anchor and reporter for BG24 News and a column writer for the BG News. She began her master’s program in creative writing from Southern New Hampshire University in 2016 and took time off from writing to take care of her family and two daughters. In 2017, Jasmine finally released her long-awaited book, self-published book, “Still Not Satisfied: A Collection of Poems and Short Stories”. That summer, she was invited to be a featured author at the YourBookMyBook.com book signing at the Book Loft in German Village located in Columbus, Ohio. In July 2018, after receiving several inquiries, Jasmine decided to start Write On It! LLC a writing consultation service. She officially resigned from her corporate position, to turn Write On It! LLC into a full-time business. LLC is a five-star business and has been a go-to resource for students, business professionals, and entrepreneurs with requests ranging from resumes to business plans, and custom greeting cards.
