From March 7th through May 31st, 2026, the legendary Explorer Ships open in Chattanooga, TN — and you’re invited to walk the decks where discovery began!
Experience hands-on history aboard real exploration ships. Feel the timber beneath your feet, see the towering sails up close, and imagine the courage it took to cross uncharted oceans.

Important Chattanooga Port information

Dates in Port: Friday 31st October (boo)- Sunday 23rd November 2025.

Open 9am-3pm Monday- Friday for scheduled guided tours only.

The General public are invited for walk up/no reservation tours Monday-Friday from 3p-5p, which includes scavenger hunts and talking with our knowledgeable crew.

On Saturday & Sundays in Port the Ships will be open from 10am-5pm for no reservations/Self guided tours. "Age of Exploration" Scavenger hunts for all ages to complete.

Guntersville City Harbor

Starting June 23rd 2025 the Ships will be open Monday-Friday for scheduled guided tours only with groups of 15 or more. Will be open for self guided/no reservations tours on Saturday & Sundays. Hours on the weekends are 11am to 5pm until October 19th.

GUNTERSVILLE CITY HARBOR

Starting May 21st 2025 onwards the Nina & Pinta will open at Guntersville City Harbor right off highway 431.. We will be open from 11am - 7pm from Wednesday- Sunday. Closed on Monday/Tuesday.

As well as your chance to view these historic Ships as a floating museum we will be making the learning experience a lot more fun & interactive. More hands on family based activity course that will surely tests your nautical knowledge. The higher your score the better the prize. 🏆 Everyone leaves a winner.

You will learn about Early exploration and the early days of Piracy the authentic way. The explorer and the pirate worlds will collide for the ultimate scavenger hunt.

The Ships will also be available upon request for dockside private Charters. (Wedding, private gathering, pirate themed birthday parties etc. )

We are open at the beautiful Goose Pond Colony in Scottsboro, AL. Open everyday 9a-5p daily through November 12th. No reservations necessary.

The water level has dropped back down to normal pool and we are back open for one more weekend in Downtown Knoxville, TN. Open this Friday, Saturday & Sunday at Calhoun's on the River.

UPDATE: As of Monday September 30th the Ships will remain closed until further notice. Tennessee river is running high.

Due to high water on the Tennessee River we will not be open Saturday 28th September and possibly longer. When it is safe to do so we will open.

The Ships will be closed Thursday 26th and Friday 27th September in Knoxville, TN as we prepare for impacts from Hurricane Helene. Will be back open as soon as its safe to do so. Most likely Saturday morning.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to St Marks, FL and surrounding areas who brace for a direct hit. So many great sailors hail from this small community who have helped us greatly over the years. I hope everyone is in a safe place. Will be thinking of ya'll.
