BeeN quiet on FB for a while. Thankfully still busy. The first thaw of spring finds us cleaning up downed trees and testing the wood. Lots of fun to come!

Someone asked me how I practice chip carving for some of the pieces I make. Here are a couple of practice pieces I carve when sitting in the ambulance waiting for calls.

Lately we have been researching period busks. We made this one out of cherry. All of the designs are from various period pieces. Hmmm. Maybe you know someone who would love a custom carved busk for their stays? Give us a buzz.

"The devil is in the details." That being said, the details make the piece. We recently upgraded this wooden wheelbarrow for a wonderful reenactor with removable sides and a back plate. The wood was hand planed and is held together with wrought iron nails and iron brackets with 4 period correct, 4 sided nuts. In addition, the prominent, non-period, Phillips head screws with period appropriate slotted screws.

Proof of concept. Soon we will be offering these beautiful, period frying pans for sale on our website and at events!
