While the Grass Grows (1960) by Kurt Art was the cover of the Familie Journal of June 21.

Dad is holding the manual lawn mover, which the boy was supposed to use to do his chores, but instead he has taken an extended break with some comic books and a soda.

The Familie Journal is a weekly family and women's magazine published since 1877 in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

Knight in Distress (1958) by Kurt Ard was the cover of Panorama of February 21.

I'll take this pretty lady out and impress her. But the check is also impressive. While the lady fixes her hair after a lavish meal at a fancy restaurant, the man is shocked to see the total amount.

I hope for him that tip is included and that he can ask for a box...

Now and Then (1957) by Kurt Ard was the cover of the Familie Journal of May 28.

While in 1907, making a phone call was something very special and rare, a girl 50 years later casually enjoyed talking to her friend. These illustrations were made by Kurt Ard, a Danish illustrator who loved to capture the daily life of kids, much in the style of Norman Rockwell.

I would be nice to expand this picture, with a girl calling in 2007 (or today).

Where does your pet sleep?

Animal Love by Kurt Ard was the cover of Panorama Magazine of 1971.

The dog bed is empty, the boy sleeps on a little rug, and the beagle has taken over his bed.

Ard was a Danish artist who specialized in depictions of everyday life, often featuring kids. He created covers for well-known magazines in both Europe and the United States.
