We don’t just want to build a children’s museum for our community—we want to build it with you. 💛

We are officially launching our Campaign to help bring the Great Plains Children’s Museum to life. Before building the full-scale museum, we’re starting with a first-phase preview space called the Discovery Play Lab.

Think of it as a creative sandbox where families can play, connect, and help us test out new ideas.

Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll get to shape inside the lab:

🎨 SPLAT — A messy, immersive sensory and art experience for little ones.
🤝 Community Programs — Playgroups and events where caregivers can find their village.
👀 Exhibit Previews — Your kids get to test prototypes, and your feedback will directly design our future exhibits!

By playing in this space, you and your kids will be true co-creators, helping us design the exact experience you want for local families.

To get this lab up and running, we’re looking for early supporters to get us launched. Founding Family gifts start at $500, giving you permanent recognition as one of the original people who helped build this from the ground up.

We’re here! Tiny Town is now open at MidWest KidFest 2026!

Join us from 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM at the East Tennis Courts in Island Park, located near the Gazebo.

Bring the kids to explore:
• 6 pretend play houses
• Foot-powered vehicles
• Sensory stations
• A mud kitchen
• Activities from Brainy Ink
• Free books through our Book Rescue Program
• Bubbles, art stations, and more

Tiny Town is completely FREE thanks to our partnership with MidWest KidFest and the Fargo Park District.

Don’t forget to enter our Tiny Town raffle for a chance to take home select play items after the event!

We can’t wait to see you and your little ones for a day of imaginative play, exploration, and family fun.
