"ALL Things ALICE" challenges local and regional artists to explore, interpret, and visually express the theme of "Alice" in its broadest terms. The result is an evocative collection of artwork that moves beyond the traditional looking glass to examine the cultural impact of famous Alices across history, art, music, literature, and social activism.
Visitors to the exhibition will experience diverse creative depictions, including:
• Wonderland Visions: Whimsical and surreal interpretations of Lewis Carroll’s classic literary heroine.
• Music & Shock Rock Icons: Gritty, theatrical tributes inspired by the legendary Alice Cooper and the grunge sounds of Alice In Chains.
• Literary & Visual Pioneers: Thought-provoking portraits and pieces honoring Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Alice Walker and pioneering American portrait painter Alice Neel.
• Fierce Historical Leaders: Inspiring artworks paying homage to suffragist and Equal Rights Amendment author Alice Paul, as well as trailblazing chemist Alice Ball.
"We wanted to give our artist community a prompt that was simultaneously structured yet completely open to interpretation," said Claudia Goode at Arts for ACT Gallery. "Whether it is the dreamy curiosity of Alice in Wonderland, the raw theatricality of Alice Cooper, or the quiet strength of Alice Walker, this show proves that a single name can evoke an incredible spectrum of human creativity and history."
The exhibition will run from August 5 through August 31, 2026. Arts for ACT Gallery invites art enthusiasts, collectors, and community members to join them for the opening night festivities, meet the artists, and enjoy an evening dedicated to creative expression.
