It's Frontier Friday again and we're looking at the Zaragoza House. Located on land donated by the county in 1961 the building is a small and typical early 19th century home in La Bahia. Texas Parks and Wildlife constructed this building in 1974 based on designs by architect Raiford Stripling. The building opened to the public in May 5, 1976, the 114th anniversary of the Battle of Puebla. Have you ever been here?

Have you ever heard of George Gosnell? This True Crime Thursday we are looking at a crime of passion. After Mrs. Gosnell began an affair with one of Georges workers, they schemed to murder him. Paying another worker, Elie Pointer to do the killing Mr. Gosnell was gunned down by the San Antonio River at a spot called Hall's Point. The ultimate fate of the trio is unknown as Pointer broke out of prison not long into his sentence, Howard Milner was found guilty and sentenced to life but later appealed and released, Mrs. Gosnell was indicted as an accessory to murder but how this court case played out in also unknown. Interestingly Hall's Point also known as Pajarite De Sangre is the site of several murders and native attacks that we are researching. Have you ever heard of this murder case?

This Frontier Friday features the Goliad Auditorium. Part of the Texas Centennial celebration, the auditorium was a project largely spearheaded by Judge J.A. White with architects Raiford Stripling and Samuel Vosper designing the building to match other ongoing projects in the state park. The building was dedicated in December 1937 and has been an intricate part of Goliad ever since. What's your favorite memory of this place?

True Crime Thursdays are back and today is another outlaw. Braxton Cornett had a short but explosive criminal career as a bank and train robber. Stealing thousands of dollars and getting into multiple shootouts, Brack as he was called was killed by Texas Ranger Alfred Allee after a short manhunt in 1888. Allee collected $3,800 in rewards from the state as well as train companies. Have you ever heard of this Goliad County man.
