Behind the scenes of the Cold War.

This specialized transport trailer was used to move the Titan II missile’s reentry vehicle — the section at the very top of the missile that housed the nuclear warhead. Built to protect incredibly sensitive equipment, these trailers operated under heavy security and played a critical role in America’s nuclear deterrent strategy during the Cold War.

Today, very few pieces of this support equipment still exist, making artifacts like this an important part of preserving the history of the Titan II program.
