This beautiful house was purchased at the August county tax sale by Mike & Glenda Sherman. They were excited to restore it back to its glory days as soon as the required waiting period was up on January 9th when they would become the outright owners. In December mayor Carter initiated the redemption of the house so the Sherman's would not be able to take possession of the home in January. Can someone explain to me why the mayor and city council would spend $3,800 of our tax money to buy back a home the city had previously slated for demolition? Personally, I feel there would have been a much better use for the $3,800 than to spend it on the purchase of a house the mayor had previously deemed needed to be demolished.
