Artist Spotlight: Ruslan Anokhin
Pictured Artwork: Golden Stag, made from white oak, walnut inlay, gold leaf accents, and a clear finish.

Ruslan Anokhin is a wood artist and designer based in St. Louis, Missouri. Originally from Russia, he creates one-of-a-kind furniture pieces that merge natural forms with contemporary craftsmanship. Working with solid hardwoods, Ruslan incorporates aluminum and ceramic inlays to produce sculptural tables that function as both practical objects and art pieces.
With a background in metalwork, ceramics, and custom fabrication, he developed a multidisciplinary approach that defines his signature style. Each piece is handcrafted from start to finish, emphasizing texture, structure, and the natural character of the wood.
Ruslan’s work aims to bring warmth and individuality into interior spaces, creating timeless designs meant to be lived with, appreciated, and passed on.

Artist Spotlight: Chandan Mahanta
Pictured Artwork: Droplets
Medium: Watercolor

(In the artist's words): I am a retired architect, living in St. Louis since 1975. Originally from India, I am a self taught watercolor artist and did some at architecture school and a few after arriving in California in 1970. But I had not touched a brush from 1972 through 2022. During the Covid lockdown I took it up again, inspired by an old classmate's work. I won awards at St. Louis Watercolor Society's annual exhibitions and at the Heartland Art Club of Kirkwood, was a finalist at Best of Watercolor Splash 25 held by Artists Magazine, am a top 200 winner at the International Watercolor Masters 2026 competition in the UK and had two pieces exhibited at the Watercolor USA 2025 Exhibition at Joplin, MO.

Artist Biography:
Justin is self taught and has been making art since 2019. He has been living in Hermann, MO for 25 years. Glass gave him a way to show imagination and gave him enough to worry about in the moment. Justin says that sculpting glass is the most stressful way to enjoy yourself.

Justin loves nature and every form of life, plants, fungus and animals. Justin also loves realism and taking something and having it look like something completely different. Justin says if you want to learn how to do something, start.
