The 2025 H1 Unlimited season will mark the 27th year Dave Villwock will drive an Unlimited Hydroplane.

Villwock is set to drive the U-27 Miss Apollo for the new BWR Racing Team this summer.

This is same hull Villwock drove last summer for previous owner Charley Wiggins.

All hydro fans know Villwock’s resume.

He’s the all-time winningest driver in the Unlimited ranks with 67 victories.

No other driver has more National Championships than Villwock, who has 10.

And, his 10 APBA Gold Cup wins is 2nd only to Chip Hanauer’s 11.

Add two World Championships as well.
The first in 2004 driving the Miss Budweiser. And in 2010 driving the Spirit of Qatar.

Villwock’s first win came in Ron Jones, Jr. Coor’s Dry at San Diego in 1992.

Next Villwock drove 3 summer’s for Fred Leland and the Pico American Dream.
Dave and Fred had 8 wins, and the ‘96 Gold Cup and National High points title together.

In 1997, Bernie Little came calling.
His Miss Budweiser’s were a dominating force.

Eight summers total resulted in 37 race wins, 4 APBA Gold Cup’s and 7 straight National Championships from 1998 to 2004.

After the Budweiser team stopped racing, Villwock moved to Erik Ellstrom’s Elam Plus.

In eight years with Ellstrom, Villwock collected 21 victories, 5 APBA Gold Cup’s and 2 National titles.

Driving the Spirit of Qatar at the 2012 Gold Cup would be his last win.

So far.

Villwock teamed with the Schumacher’s U-37 in 2014 for one year.

He took the next 6 years off as a driver until his return to the sport in 2021 for the Stocklin’s Bucket List Racing team.

Last season he drove the U-27, a hull which he helped complete as a new build.

Dave hopes to race for wins for new owner Bruce Ratchford in 2025.
