A picture from the Alcohol Ink Class on March 23 & 24. Early enough in the day, notice the smiles!! Next INK CLASS is Mon-Tues, May 18 & 19. There is a 2 day BASKET CLASS on Mon-Tues, April 13 & 14th.

The last classes of the year (at least that is the plan) will be held in Tellico Village Wed-Thurs, June 3 & 4 Baskets, and Fri-Sat, June 5 & 6 Inks. They'll be $35 more if you are not a Tellico Village Guild Member (https://www.tellicoartguild.com). Click on current classes and scroll to the bottom.

Teaching another ALCOHOL INK CLASS Monday-Tuesday, March 23 & 24, 2026, 10-4 each day here at the gallery. You bring a lunch, everything else is provided including dessert. Complete description is on my website home page. Day one are landscapes, day two, floral. $175for both days. One day slots may be available at $90 each. Having fun is mandatory!!!! 🥳

Been busy the last couple of weeks. Spent Thursday night with members of the Townsend Artisan Guild at Montvale Station Elementary doing demo's as part of their art night for parents and kiddos. There were visual artists, dance, martial arts, etc., the list goes on and the building was full. It's fun to watch a kid's eyes get big and see a small index finger reach out and touch something.

I've scheduled a 2 day basket class for Mon-Tues, Feb 16 & 17, 2026, 10 to 4 each day at my gallery here in Townsend, cost $195, everything supplied as usual. A 2 day Alcohol Ink Class is scheduled for Mon-Tues, March 23 & 24, 2026, 10 to 4 each day at the gallery, cost $175, again all supplies included. After finishing the gargantuan basket below I went from the sublime to the ridiculous. B229, 30 and 31 range in price from $148 to $158. These mini's can be deceptively time consuming as the coil is about 1/3 the size of my regular basket coils which means a lot more stitching. Maybe you have to see it in person to understand what I am saying. At any rate the centers are clay or porcelain, Southern Long Leaf Pine Needles, Waxed Linen or Artificial Sinew, and Mandeville Vine. Beads are Porcelain, or Amazonite gemstones or TDZI beads. Throw in a little locally grown Teeswater Lambswool and TaDa!

Worked on GB342 24"W x 16"D x 13"T for the better part of two weeks to finish. I started it 2 years ago and decided the huge deer antler was way to heavy for the pine needles to hold it in the position I wanted. Then 6 months later I decided to use big abalone shells. I guess I wasn't convinced because when Leah LaRocco brought me more driftwood from Long Island, I thought it was worth the wait. This piece of driftwood was perfect for the basket. Gourd, dyed Southern Long Leaf Pine Needles in a glycerin bath, 53 yards of Waxed Linen, Variscite gemstones (sm beads), Amazonite gemstones (lg beads), and driftwood collected 2025 on Long Island, NY. Thank you Leah!

Normally when I work in the gallery on my days off I flip the open sign. I didn't this last Monday. I sat in my robe and bed head hair and wove from sunrise to sun down. The gourds were already prepared. I managed to weave one medium size and 2 cuties! Here are two of them, I'm in an acorn phase!

GB338 is finally out of my head and in my hands! 15"W x 18" T, Gourd, Gourd Paint, Mica, Dyed Southern Long Leaf Pine Needles in a glycerin bath, Porcelain Beads, Waxed Linen, Lotus Pods, Modeling Clay, and driftwood collected in 2025 on Long Island, NY by a friend. $ inquire.
