The Lake Mills-Aztalan Hist. Soc. does not receive any state, local government or federal funding for museum operations. The Lake Mills-Aztalan Hist. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, donations are tax deducible as provided by law. The Lake Mills Aztalan Hist. owns & operates the Lake Mills Aztalan Museum which is next to Aztalan State Park, but the museum is not part of Aztalan State Park.

At this year's Aztalan Day on Sunday, July 19th, 2026 we will be placing items into a time capsule in celebration of our Nation's 250th.
Rob from Lewis Station: Winery I Distillery I Kitchen donated a barrel to seal the items in until the 275th celebration.
We are seeking items to add to the capsule that reflect life in Lake Mills/Aztalan in 2026. If you have an idea or item, let us know. Leader Independent how about a copy of the July 4, 2026 edition? American Legion Post 67 - Lake Mills, WI maybe a 100 years of the Slider item or picture? Classes of 2026? Add suggestions in the comments!
