Operation: Pineapple Grow Your Revenue. We've Got the Seeds. Successful attractions understand the importance of strong revenue growth. What’s wrong with both of these approaches? NO!

At the front gate (or ticket counter), there are two generally accepted ways to drive incremental revenue: 1) GET ’EM THROUGH THE LINE—it’s all about efficiency—more is more. 2) UPSELL, UPSELL, UPSELL—which means that after a guest asks for the standard product, we attempt to climb the ladder, asking “do you want to add…” questions and hoping they’ll say yes. Everything! The reality is that both

these practices leave a tremendous amount of money on the table. Another time-honored tradition is to prominently post pricing at the point of sale so that guests can make an informed decision before arriving at the window. Efficient, yes... but effective at driving incremental revenue? When guests arrive at the ticket window, they reflexively spout off their order so that it can be quickly processed and they can be on their way. Sounds a lot like McDonalds, doesn’t it? Would you like fries with that? Your guests deserve better. When we overwhelm them with too many options and then ask “how can I help you?”, we set the stage for a mediocre sales performance. Instead of engaging with guests on the benefits and value of our most premium product offerings, we put our guests in the drivers seat and then, we’re surprised when they choose the lowest common denominator—basic admission. The BLOOM Growth Formula operates out of a different paradigm, starting with a comprehensive review of your admission products—this is where we help you to CHOOSE THE BEST SEEDS—packages, annual passes, memberships, and more. We work together to PREPARE THE TOPSOIL by aligning your sales environment with the crops you want to thrive. We work with your sales team to PLANT THE SEEDS, transforming them from simple ticket sellers to skilled Adventure Planners. As your seeds begin to grow, we teach you to TEND TO YOUR CROPS through individual development and coaching that rewards forward progress. Of course, for best results, you’ll need to NURTURE your team with recognition and reward. It is also important to note that from time to time, even the most bountiful gardens must be PRUNED. When you follow the BLOOM Growth Formula, you’ll REAP YOUR REWARDS with happier guests, a stronger sales force, and positive revenue growth that makes your Bottom Line BLOOM!

THIS IS A GOOD SIGN How to Design Great Front Gate Signage! Marketing, as defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is “the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.” Successful marketing agencies help to make products exciting, memorable, and necessary for consumers. Smart Wristband Technology Is Transforming the Guest Experience Remember years ago when it used to take several steps just to get into a theme park? You had to wait in line to purchase your admission ticket, pull out your wallet, pay the cashier, receive your barcoded ticket, walk to the admissions turnstile, present your ticket, and finally enter. I know I was exhausted even before I got through the front gates. [ 621 more words ]

The physical act of taking out your wallet and paying can be psychologically “painful” for many consumers. Read my blog on how Smart Wristband technology, coupled with the right point-of-sale software, is transforming the guest experience.

LEADERS LEAD Why Leaders Are Better Than Managers Working in food service builds character. That's what I have always taught my children and because of that, both of my boys are presently working in food service. My oldest works at TopGolf as a busser and is now being trained as a food runner. My younger son took his first job working at Dunkin' Donuts and now works at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.
