Today is a big day for me, a day I’ve always looked forward to but have been afraid to commit to. Today i got my access port taken out of my chest, for those of you who don’t know an access port is how chemo is administered during cancer treatment. I’ve had this port in my chest for 7 years now, and to be honest i was reluctant to have it taken out because there was always that little flicker in the back of my mind that my cancer would come back. And i would need it again. But i just broke the 5 year mark for being in remission and to show not only myself but future generations that may look up to me that you can’t live in fear i decided to have it removed. So for the first time in 7 years, i can honestly say that I’ve officially left cancer in my past, I’m cancer free and access port free. It may not mean much to some, but to me… it means the world. Love y’all ❤️❤️
