We’re just three days away from our the first “Clean Air Fair,” happening during our June Discovery Saturday here at LASC! Every 3rd Saturday, we open to the public for a free day of play with special themed activities, interactive exhibits, and more — this Saturday, we’ll be focused on keeping the air we share clean and healthy for all!

Thanks to the incredible support of Seeding Action with Association of Science and Technology Centers, Sanofi, and the Air We Share, we’ll be hosting tons of programming related to air quality, public health, and the human body! See our larger-than-life inflatable lungs to demonstrate their function and how they can be affected by air pollution, explore our Air We Share exhibit at it’s grand opening, engage in related crafts and hands-on activities across campus, and chat with community partners and vendors including the Lexington City Health Dept. who’ll be providing information on to***co cessation & prevention, lung screenings, and radon test kits, as well as the Kentucky Division for Air Quality!

Every breath counts! Discovery Saturday is open to the community and suitable for all ages — we are a multi-generational museum, after all! We’ll see you there 💨

“Makers & Mediums” • July 11th, 10 AM - 2 PM 🎨

Join us for the first installment of our monthly art market series here at The Living Arts & Science Center! “Makers & Mediums” focuses on accessible art purchasing, where no piece or item can be over $100, and creating less intimidating opportunities to buy art from local artists. This family-friendly event will feature 10-15 artists & vendors all across the LASC lawn with day-of discounted entry into the museum so you can explore, play, AND support creatives!

A farmer, a gardener, a grocery store employee…our Discovery Room lets you become a part of the journey where our food is Sown, Grown, & Served!

Through hands-on play and imagination, the Marksbury Family Foundation Discovery Room teaches people of all ages about how the food we eat starts from the soil and ends up on our shelves and on our plates. There’s so much to interact with, and so many ways you can engage with the space!

Planetarium shows run all day long at The Living Arts & Science Center! If you need a quiet moment alone without the hustle and bustle of life, you can always find solace under the dome. Join every 1st and 4th Saturday of the month for a night-sky yoga session that doesn’t make you wait until dark!

The Living Arts & Science Center’s second annual Putt Putt Par-TEE Fundraiser ⛳️ August 21st & 22nd!

Food! Drinks! Games! All in support of Art & Science Education! You are cordially invited to spend the weekend with us, August 21st (Adult Night) & August 22nd (Family Day), where we’ll be celebrating 10 Years of the Lucille Caudill Little Discovery Center with mini-golf, pay-to-play games, hands-on activities, a silent disco, and much more!

⛳️ 8/21 - Adult Night | $10 per person OR $50 for a team or six! Putt around our campus, explore our building, and tap into your inner child for this birthday bash event. We’ll have art exhibits, crafts and activities, a silent disco, and plenty of opportunities to make new friends! Refreshments provided by , .ky, , and (5:30 PM - 9:30 PM)

Coffee 101: Adult Class Series ☕️ Seed To Cup

What better way is there to start your Saturday morning than a hot cup of quality coffee? The first class in our new adult learning series, Coffee 101, starts May 23rd from 10:30 - 11:30 AM with .coffee! Get an in depth overview of how coffee is grown all the way to how it ends up as the caffeinated beverage you know and love. It’s the perfect weekend wake-up for your brain and your body!

🥁 Drumroll, please…! 🥁

WOW! 🤩 We are so so grateful, and SO excited to share that thanks to the incredible generosity of and , summer camp at The Living Arts & Science Center just got a whole lot cooler! These grants will allow us to elevate our STEAM programming this season, and opens more scholarship opportunities for students to join in on all the art & science summer fun!

Yesterday’s “Civic Animals” No School Day Class was a hit! Our friends participated in The Living Arts & Science Center’s first election to nominate an animal ambassador as mayor of LASC, and (spoiler alert) our eco-educator Speedy 🐍 won by a landslide! These students got to see first-hand how important their vote was, how they could participate in making their community a better place, and even got to make their own “I Voted” stickers!

Summer break is almost here, which means our next No School Day class won’t until until Fall Break of the 2026 semester, but don’t worry! There’s still time to get registered for Clean Green Summer Camp classes happening from June until August here at the LASC.
