KSR Blades

KSR Blades Custom knives by STEVE RANDALL. Custom Bowie and Hunting Knives! I have been interested in knives for years. I started forging knives that fit my specific needs.

I started out with an interest in primitive technology such as survival training. Attended the Tom Brown school of Tracking and learned many different methods of survival skills. I translated those skills into making my own bows and arrows with flint points. I have made many flint arrow heads, spear points, and blades. After taking a Primitive Technology work shop through the Schiele History Muse

um I worked on celts (stone hatchets). I really enjoy all of these practices and am making the transistion into the hand forged steel blades. Practicing survival skills, I’ve learned the knife is one of the most important tools, so I have used many different knives. Some of my early knives were very basic, not pretty, but functional. As I got better, the performance improved, as well as the looks. The early knives were made with no electricity and with basic hand tools. Wanting to improve I attended the American Bladesmith School in Washington, Arkansas under the instruction of Jim Walker MS and Burt Foster MS, both fantastic knife makers. Under their tutorage my skill level improved tremendously. June of 2012, at The Blade Show in Atlanta, I earned my Journeyman Smith Rating with the ABS – American Bladesmith Society. I stay with simple style and concentrate on superior performance. I like my knives to be used!
