We are excited to welcome Moe Movesaround to GREENHOUSE ART AND COMEDY SHOWCASE Feb 12th!
Moe's art is an intimate exploration of the resilient, beautiful, and diverse lives of trans individuals, with a particular focus on those who navigate the intersection of disability and the trans community:
"As a disabled polyamorous trans man, I carry with me the weight of history and the ongoing struggles that trans people endure.
My creative practice is deeply intertwined with my personal experiences. I strive to bare my heart and soul in my art, using it as a raw and unfiltered mirror of my existence. It’s an attempt to amplify voices that are often silenced and to shed light on the strength of those who’ve fought through adversity.
My pieces are visual narratives, capturing the essence of character as much as likeness, often adorned with snippets of conversation, providing unique insight into the collaboration between myself and my subjects.
Using alcohol markers and acrylic paint markers as my primary media, I endeavor to celebrate the lives and experiences of q***r and trans individuals. My art challenges stereotypes and misconceptions, seeking to open a dialogue, educate, and empower.
In each brushstroke and color choice, in each conversation recorded on the canvas, I aim to shine a light on the intersections of oppression and resilience within the trans and disabled communities. My art is an offering, a piece of my soul, a testament to the beauty and strength of q***r bodies and faces that have endured so much.
Through my work, I hope to provoke thought, spark conversations, and ultimately contribute to a more inclusive and understanding world where every individual’s story is acknowledged and celebrated!"
