Exhibit Cancelled
Our museum had planned to exhibit at Aubergine gallery in Madison in September 2026. We wanted to create a fun, digital playground. On July 22, Corey Ruiz was killed by a police officer less than a block from the gallery. Ruiz was on the ground, surrounded by four officers, had already been tazed, and was shot three times. We stand in solidarity with the community in mourning and demanding justice. It is clear to us and to Aubergine that the exhibit we had planned would be inappropriate and disrespectful, so we have cancelled it. We are discussing a return to Aubergine in September of 2027, and will be looking for other pop-up opportunities. Please join us in demanding accountability and an end to institutional racism.
