Lincoln and Continental Owners Club

Lincoln and Continental Owners Club The official organization for the preservation and restoration of all Lincolns, Lincoln Continentals, and Continental models nationwide! Since 1953

The Lincoln and Continental Owners Club was formed in 1953 by Dr. Elliston Bell. The first National meet was held in Dearborn, Michigan, on October 16, 1954, with 151 Continentals participating. These included 1940 through 1948 Continentals only. The following year, there were two National Meets; an Eastern Meet was held in Bedford Spring, Pennsylvania, and a Western Meet was held in Santa Barbara

, California. In 1956, it was announced there would be no National Meets which sounded like a death knell for the Lincoln Continental Owners Club. A core group of die-hard enthusiasts met to put on a meet at Boyne Mountain, Michigan. This incident pointed to the urgent need to enlarge the club structure, establish a Constitution, create bylaws, and to elect a Board of Directors and Officers who would guarantee perpetuation of our Club and its meets. This meeting was held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in 1957. Under the new Constitution, Regions were formed.

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of past LCOC President, Brad Luse. Brad was a long-time LCOC board member and LCOC President from 1990-1994. He was very active in the Mid-Atlantic Region (MAR) and LCOC for many years. He and MAR hosted many successful local events and LCOC meets – all well attended. Brad and others made MAR a “power house” back in the ’80’s and ’90’s (and longer). He was great at telling jokes and seeing the lighter side of things while taking LCOC and fellow Lincoln enthusiasts seriously. Brad was dedicated to the preservation of our beloved Lincolns and promoting our Club!
He owned 1941 LC Coupes, 1956 Continental Mark IIs, and 1965 & 1968 LC LP Limousines and enjoyed sharing their beauty with others!
Brad was a teacher, which made an imprint on kids that made them productive adults. He will be missed!
Our condolences are extended to Brad’s spouse, family, and friends. Arrangements are pending, for available details, please see: https://www.mfhcares.com/obituaries/bradley-luse/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=autopost #!/Obituary . If not sending flowers or gifts as mentioned in obituary, consider making donation to the Lincoln Motor Car Foundation in his name, visit: https://lincolncarmuseum.org/our-foundation .
Watch for future details (when available) from Gary Convertino, MAR Director and Owen Clarke of MAR.
With Deepest Sympathies to those that knew Brad,
Darren Klingler,
LCOC Secretary/At-Large Director

The Lincoln and Continental Owner's Club is deeply saddened to announce the death of longtime club member David Gustafson, who passed away on Sunday evening.

His journey with Lincolns began in 1980 when he acquired a 1951 Lincoln Cosmopolitan. Over the years he enjoyed both older and new Lincolns as daily drivers. He joined the LCOC in 1997 and was an active member of the North Star Region, serving on the Board of Managers, and also served as Membership Secretary for over 20 years. He had been the Editor and Publisher of the monthly Northstar News, the local region newsletter.

More recently, David was asked to serve as on the Publications Committee with Pat Corbett. David and Pat put tremendous effort into improving the club's national Continental Comments magazine through the use of updated technology, software and process improvements. Under their guidance, Comments switched to full color for every issue! David even digitized every copy of Comments ever published, allowing the Club to conveniently reference past issues and more easily retain our history!

Although a quiet person, David was impactful and passionate about our Club and the preservation of our Lincolns.

A Memorial Service for David will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Hosanna Church located at 9600 163rd Street West, Lakeville, MN 55044. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM. A light lunch will be provided immediately following the church service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to any of the following:

· Samoyed Health Foundation https://www.samoyedhealthfoundation.org/how-you-can-help/
· UMD MIS/MEHS Legacy Award https://scse.d.umn.edu/graduate-programs/master-environmental-health-and-safety/support

David, you were a true gentleman and will be deeply missed!!
