I took the day off from work to do what I love most…paint! I started this oil painting a little over a year ago and worked on it off and on. I finally finished it this morning! 🎨👩‍🎨.

After much reflection, I’ve made the decision to discontinue my art business. This journey has been filled with lessons, creativity, and the incredible support of all of you. While I won’t be pursuing art as a business, I’m excited to continue painting as a hobby and focusing on growing as an artist.

If you’re a friend or family member with a pet, wildlife, or landscape project in mind, feel free to reach out—I’d love to help when time allows.

Thank you for all your encouragement and support along the way! I’m also stepping back from social media to focus on other priorities, but I’ll still be creating and sharing moments of inspiration when the time feels right.

While I’m waiting for the paint to dry on the Payette river painting I’m working on, I decided to work on this pet portrait for a friend today. I focused on his face today and still have a little more to do before I move on to the blankets and his body. I will often work on 2 or more paintings at once while I wait for paint layers to dry.

By the way, pet portraits make great gifts for animal lovers. Feel free to reach out to me if you’re interested in a pet portrait. 😊🖼️🎨

Here’s my latest work in progress…. I started this painting a few months ago for my brother-in-law and I’m getting back to it now to finish it for him. Today, I added the base layer for the river and worked on the trees on the right side of the painting. There’s more layers to come to add depth and detail. I’m happy with my progress and can’t wait to finish this piece!

Details, details, details…. I had a little time this afternoon to work on this painting, so I focused on adding details to the fur to give it more definition yet maintain the soft texture. It takes a lot of time and patience, but it’s worth it.

There’s still more work to do, but I feel pretty optimistic that I can finish this one next weekend. 😊

I just opened a package containing this new wet palette. I’m excited to try it out with my acrylic paint! It extends the life of the paint making it easier to paint with acrylics without them drying out too fast. 🎨👩‍🎨

I bought the Everlasting Wet Palette Studio XL2 set. It contains 2 reusable foam pads that you wet to help keep the paint moist. It also came with 15 reusable hydration paper sheets that you set on top of the foam pads to hold the paint. The palette has an airtight lid to help preserve the paint.

I’ll post an update after I have a chance to use it.
