Thrilled to share a sneak peek of my commissioned artwork, “Night Teaches the Flowers to Listen & Insects Dream in Color” (2026), forthcoming at . The project is realized under the art direction of Amanda Baker (.art), in collaboration with Marcella Novela.

Rooted in the nocturnal ecosystems of South Florida, the work reflects a landscape shaped by rising seas, rapid development, and ecological displacement. Dragonflies, butterflies, and frogs appear as indicators of environmental health—species whose presence signals both resilience and vulnerability. Rendered in saturated blues and luminous color, the garden becomes a listening body rather than a scenic backdrop, attuned to vibration, moisture, and movement after dark. Silhouetted forms suggest fragmentation and loss, while glowing surfaces point to adaptation and survival.

The work invites viewers to slow down and reconsider their relationship to the land, shifting from passive observation toward stewardship and care for the fragile systems that persist beyond human attention.

I’m honored to announce the acquisition of two of my ceramic works by the .museum —marking the museum’s very first ceramic commission!

Titled “Pearl of the Antilles: Sugarcane and Tea” and “Ayiti en Bleu: The Songbird Sings a Reverie of Liberation” (2025), these teapots dive deep into Haiti’s tea traditions—where every pour holds the weight of colonial history and the power of healing.

Tea in Haiti isn’t just a drink. It carries echoes of the sugar trade, enslavement, and resistance. It’s a story of survival and transformation—how herbal infusions once tied to oppression became sources of spiritual nourishment and ancestral wisdom after the Haitian Revolution.

As I shared with the museum:
“This project seeks to restore balance. To say—our tea histories matter too. Our infusions, our ceremonies, our resistance—they belong in the museum, not just in the margins.”
Grateful to curator Evelyn Earl for such a thoughtful conversation. You can read our full interview at chitracollection.com.

There’s something intimate about seeing your work in someone’s home—where it lives, breathes, and becomes part of the everyday.

Above this mantel, my piece “Death of Venus, 2022l” rests like a quiet whisper. Porcelain limbs and coral forms echo Botticelli’s Birth of Venus—but here, she doesn’t rise from the sea… she slips beneath it. Arms, legs, fragments of beauty—gently surrendered to the deep.

Part sculpture, part elegy. A meditation on what the ocean offers… and what it reclaims.

Repost from .krueger.design: For our client—a true collector—this isn’t just a piece of art. It’s a daily reminder that beauty and loss often share the same shoreline.

On view at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia as part of “The Future of Clay” exhibition. Oct 5th - Dec 31st, 2024

Curatorial team Anya Montiel, Angelik Vizcarrondo-Laboy, Zindzi Harley, and Jennifer Zwilling proposed the following question: What is the Future of Clay?

The Blueprint (Indigo Wing & A Poem Full of Corpses
Medium: Porcelain Ceramic
Dimensions: 22 - 24 Diameter
Year: 2024

“The Blueprint (Indigo Wing & A Poem Full of Corpses)” is a reflection on humanity’s impact on nature, exploring the fragile balance between creation and destruction. The indigo wing, a symbol of beauty trapped in a blueprint, represents nature constrained by human ambition. The “Poem Full of Corpses” mourns the silent losses of environmental exploitation. Inspired by South Florida’s climate crisis, this piece calls for a reimagining of our relationship with the Earth—a shift from destruction to regeneration.

I had the absolute pleasure of sharing my artistic journey with students at the 12th Annual MICAtalks. As there was a great deal of interest in my presentation, I will be sharing my "Tips for Young Artists" slides on social media tomorrow.

I would appreciate it if you could share this valuable information with your students. I have compiled a wealth of insights from my personal experience as an artist that I believe will be useful to aspiring artists.

I would like to express my gratitude to Miami Living Magazine for featuring my solo exhibition, "Water Grieves In the Six Shades of Death," in their latest issue. This exhibition critically examines themes of climate gentrification, migration, and displacement affecting Miami's Black diaspora, using porcelain ceramic, decorative ironwork salvaged from demolished dwellings, and impressions of native flora and fauna from various black and brown communities.

I’m incredibly humbled to have “Infinite Love Mug” featured in 2021 Fall Issue.

Haitian-American ceramic artist Morel Doucet is the creator of an artisanal line of serve-ware that includes these charming ceramic mugs. The youthful colors and the modern, graphic simplicity of the heart shaped handle design offer a poignant ode to love.
