Additional basket weaving session added! 🌾🧺

Bring yourself, your friends, or your family and join us for a special Round Basket Weaving Workshop. Led by artist Carrie LaDuke (), this hands-on experience invites you to make a small, round basket and learn foundational weaving techniques while working with natural materials.

Explore how to shape and construct your basket from start to finish, leaving with a completed basket and a deeper understanding of a different weaving technique. All levels are welcome; ages 14+.

Due to high demand (our AM session is sold out!), we’ve added an additional PM session so more guests can take part in this special experience.

The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms recently served as a filming location for an upcoming episode of Eric En Plein Air, an upcoming public television series that blends art instruction with travel and exploration.

The show follows artist and teacher Eric Santoli as he journeys across the U.S. and abroad to paint, draw, and connect with meaningful destinations. Each episode highlights organizations, locations and environments with an emphasis on appreciating, supporting and preserving nature and wildlife. 🪵🏠

We had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful group from the Morris County School Media Association for a private tour at the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms! Our wonderful docent, Laura R., shared an in-depth look at Gustav Stickley’s life, work, and years at Craftsman Farms through a guided tour of the Log House. Log House tours provide insight to the heart of Gustav Stickley’s Craftsman utopia. Largely restored to its 1910 - 1917 appearance, the Log House, which was designed to be Craftsman Farms’ clubhouse and became the Stickley family’s home, features many original furnishings and other rare and important objects from the museum’s collections. ⁠

Join us for a day in Princeton at the University’s new Art Museum!

We’ll begin with a tour of “Toshiko Takaezu: Dialogues in Clay” with exhibition curator and the Museum’s Chief Curator, Juliana Ochs Dweck, exploring Takaezu’s experimental ceramic practice and signature “closed” forms.

For lunch, there are a variety of options to choose from, including the Museum’s Mosaic Café or nearby establishments in Princeton (about a 9-minute walk). Lunch will be on your own.

In the afternoon, we’ll tour the new installation of the American collection with curator Karl Kusserow, the John Wilmerding Curator of American Art, highlighting the museum’s Arts and Crafts holdings and themes in his scholarship on the American landscape.

Afterward, enjoy time on your own to explore the museum, outdoor public art, or the galleries with Executive Director Dr. Jonathan Clancy, who has studied this collection for decades.

It was a joy celebrating MAKERS at our Maker Day Open House! 🪵🏠

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a wonderful afternoon celebrating the art of craftsmanship at the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms this past weekend.

We loved welcoming our friends, members, and neighbors to explore the historic Log House and North Cottage, shop from talented local artisan vendors, and watch live demonstrations across the property. From collaborative basket weaving and a historic textile loom to exploring the property and a scavenger hunt for the kiddos, it was wonderful to celebrate the art of craft in both historic and contemporary forms together! 🧶🧺🌳
