In between. This piece is exploring my identity. Bred, born, and raised in Poland. All my childhood memories and places where I go for comfort are Polish. Ive lived in the US for longer than I ever lived in Poland. But I will never feel that I fit here 100%. My English is not perfect, I did not grow up the way my friends did. But, at the same time I don’t belong in Poland anymore. My polish has accent, I can’t relate to my childhood friends. Their lives are different than mine. It feels as if I’were stuck in between two world. I’m wearing traditional floral crown made with flowers that are common on polish meadows poppies, cornflowers , and daisies. Behind my head there is a halo of polish traditional paper cutting. I’m wearing both I❤️ NY shirt and traditional sleeve from lasowiak, polish sub ethnic group. On polish ceramic plate there is a burger and pierogi. To the right if me is Florida beach to the left mountains of Karkonosze, where I grew up. On the bottom there is polish flag with the eagle. On the top American flag with the citizenship oat scribbled on top.
