Heriard-Cimino Gallery

Heriard-Cimino Gallery http://www.heriardcimino.com The gallery represents primarily New York and Miami based artists. Jeanne Cimino is the owner and director of the gallery.

Established in 1997, Heriard-Cimino Gallery quickly gained a reputation identified by its assembly of nationally established mid-career artists. The gallery showcases abstract, figurative and conceptual bodies of work that include painting, photography and installations all possessing an underlying poetic nature. The gallery also represents prominent Louisiana artists, each having a distinctive pe

rsonal vision. Since its inception, Heriard-Cimino Gallery exhibitions have been covered by major art magazines and other well-known art publications. The Year in Art
D. Eric Bookhardt looks back at 2012 in New Orleans galleries and museums:
"One looming change involves Heriard-Cimino Gallery. Long recognized as a Julia Street leader for its distinct curatorial vision, the gallery just closed and will move to San Francisco for an indefinite period, says longtime director Jeanne Cimino. Although it is not known what form its new iteration will take, its elegantly provocative presence will be missed. A new gallery will open in early January at the same location (name and ownership to be announced), ensuring an almost seamless transition."

T H A N K Y O U

On behalf of Heriard-Cimino Gallery and the Artists who have been represented here throughout these years, we thank you, our Patrons, whole-heartedly for the opportunity to work with you. We appreciate your curiosity and exploration of the work we have presented and we thank you for your continued interest and support of the gallery and our artists over the many years.

It has been a great joy and honor to represent the artists in our gallery and I cannot imagine my life without knowing and representing these extraordinary people. Our focus here has always been on presenting strong work with a sense of the poetic. I believe we have achieved this.

I truly appreciate time spent with our patrons and through our conversations over the years have learned a great deal from each of you, as clients and as friends.

We plan on returning to San Francisco for a sabbatical of sorts. I will continue the gallery online and perhaps in some form in San Francisco, and will look forward to being in New Orleans in a year or two enthused and rejuvenated!

May continue as an online version of the gallery.

Aaron McNamee, born in a really rural part of northeastern Oregon, in a county of less than 5,000 people, first came to New Orleans post-Katrina to help an artist friend muck out his flooded home. He did all the things so many did at that time: He put up dry wall, painted, generally helped out.
