Support The McKenna Museums this GiveNOLA Day 🌟
GiveNOLA Day is almost here—an opportunity for our community to come together and support the institutions that preserve our city’s history, art, and culture.
The McKenna Museums are more than an organization—they are living spaces where Black history is preserved, celebrated, and shared. We highlight and uplift Black stories that have too often been excluded from the broader American narrative, revealing the richness and diversity of the Black experience.
Your donation on GiveNOLA Day helps us continue this vital mission. Every gift—large or small—makes an impact by supporting:
Educational programs for local students
Programming that highlights underrepresented voices
Restoration and maintenance of our museum spaces and collections
Early giving is now open, or you can give directly on GiveNOLA Day using the link below:

Cultural preservation is not a luxury—it is a necessity. There has never been a more critical time to protect the multitude of stories that built this nation. When people see themselves reflected, they connect more deeply and discover more fully. By centering Black stories in America’s historical narrative, we reaffirm the strength of our communities.
Representation matters—not just on screens, but in our museums and cultural institutions as well.
With gratitude,
The McKenna Museums Team
GiveNOLA Day, an initiative of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, is a one-day online giving event. For 24 hours, everyone who loves our region can support their favorite local causes by donating to one or more of 700+ participating nonprofit organizations.
