Un israelí, premio AVIFF-Angel ORENSANZ en Cannes

Una video creación del director israelí Eyal Oren ha sido la ganadora de la tradicional edición de Art Video Film Festival (AVIFF 2021), que patrocina el escultor aragonés Ángel Orensanz, y que se celebra anualmente en el transcurso del Festival Cinematográfico de Cannes. Presentada bajo el título “A couple on the rooftop, the cellular, antenna and the metal birds”, la entrega del galardón se celebró este domingo en la cinematográfica capital francesa. El productor y realizador francés Camilo Racana ha sido el presidente del jurado.

En esta edición han participado películas de Francia, Alemania, Suecia, Holanda, Estados Unidos, Ukrania, Irán, Noruega, Egipto, Taiwan y España, representada por el film de Nacho Gamma “Framming the light”. Proyecciones especiales han constituido las películas del último Bideodromo Festival Bilbao.

Israeli Director Wins the AVIFF-Angel ORENSANZ award in Cannes

The video created by the Israeli director Eyal Oren has been the winner of the traditional edition of the Art Video Film Festival (AVIFF 2021), sponsored by the Aragonese sculptor Ángel Orensanz, and held annually during the Cannes Film Festival.

Presented under the title "A couple on the rooftop, the cellular, antenna and the metal birds", the award ceremony was held this Sunday in the French capital. The French producer and director Camilo Racana has been the president of the jury.

Films from France, Germany, Sweden, Holland, the United States, Ukraine, Iran, Norway, Egypt, Taiwan, and Spain have participated in this edition, represented by Nacho Gamma's film “Framming the light”. Special screenings have constituted the films of the last Bilbao Bideodromo Festival.

ASIA SOCIETY in collaboration with Hong Kong Arts Development Council Presents:

MILA, Chamber Opera, North American premiere at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York.

Mila is an original chamber opera that explores the plight of Hong Kong’s domestic foreign workers through the tensions and relationships within a Hong Kong family—an American husband, his Cantonese wife, their son, and their domestic helper Mila from the Philippines. This hour-long opera features composer Eli Marshall, playwright and librettist Candace Chong, director Chu Hei Chan, conductor Neal Goren leading the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, and a cast of performers from Hong Kong, Manila, and the United States.

The four-member cast includes Manila-based soprano Stefanie Quintin in the title role, Hong Kong-born soprano Amanda Li as Ma’am, New York-based bass-baritone Joseph Beutel as Sir and Hong Kong-born soprano Joanna Shao as both The Boy and The Girl.
