My standout experience from Milan Design Week 2026 was Nilufar Depot’s Nilufar Grand Hotel during FuoriSalone.

What made it so compelling was how immersive it felt — not just an exhibition, but a fully imagined world built through lighting, materials, texture, and atmosphere. It was dramatic, theatrical, and completely fearless in its design approach.

It reminded me that the best hospitality design isn’t about recreating home, but about transporting guests somewhere they could never experience otherwise. The most memorable spaces create emotion, escapism, and discovery — and this installation captured that perfectly.

Easily my best of show this year.

Nothing says dedication to design like standing in line for 3 hours in ~70°F Milan sun ☀️ (that somehow felt like 85°).

Inside, L’Appartamento by Artemest — a historic Milanese palazzo reimagined room by room by international designers, celebrating Italian craftsmanship and decorative arts. Stunning, immersive… and over way too fast.

Stepped away from the studio… and straight into the dunes.

Sandboarding in Peru was more than just a thrill—it was a reminder.

The best creativity doesn’t come from routine.
It comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.

From trying something new.
From doing something that feels a little scary.

And yes—falling.
More than once.

But getting back up, brushing off the sand, and going again… that’s where the growth happens.

As designers, we shape spaces—but we also need to reshape our perspective.

Because that’s where the magic happens.
