Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to announce Gesture, Perception, Identity, a three-person exhibition featuring Lauralee Franco, Eva March and Denise Jones Adler.

Lauralee Franco’s () powerful abstract works will be featured in this exhibition. Franco engages directly with the enduring legacy of Abstract Expressionism while resisting its gravitational pull toward repetition. As critic Peter Frank observed, “Lauralee Franco, for instance, has inherited the Abstract Expressionist mantle without disappearing into it. She has fit its energy to her vision and refined her vision with its energy.” Franco’s paintings carry the force of gesture without collapsing into spectacle. Their choreographies of marks, eruptions, and suspended forms evoke what Frank described as “the chaos of your brushes and paints is the true gesture.” Her canvases hover between cosmic vastness and personal intimacy, where abstraction becomes both emotional record and existential navigation.

Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to announce Gesture, Perception, Identity, a three-person exhibition featuring Denise Jones Adler, Lauralee Franco, and Eva March.

Denise Jones Adler’s () layered dreamscapes will be featured in the exhibition, where painting, collage, photography, and drawing coexist like fragments of memory surfacing from the subconscious. Drawing from mythology, personal narrative, and symbolic archetypes, Adler transforms the canvas into a shifting terrain between intimacy and collective memory. Her works unfold through accumulation and chance, balancing geometric structures with emotional dissonance, as if identity itself were being rewritten in real time.

Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to announce Gesture, Perception, Identity, a three-person exhibition featuring Eva March, Denise Jones Adler and Lauralee Franco.

Eva March’s vibrant and instinctive paintings will be featured in the exhibition. Entirely self-taught in her beginnings, Eva March () developed a practice guided first by instinct before refining her language through formal studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Her work moves between figuration and abstraction with remarkable chromatic intensity, propelled by what she describes as the spontaneous revelation of the unconscious. Color, for March, is vital: an immediate transcription of emotion, spirituality, and human interiority. Her paintings radiate a physical energy that favors freedom over calculation, gesture over control, allowing symbolic forms to emerge from the turbulence of paint itself.
At the center of her work lies the concept of “Power Nature.”
This expression refers to the fundamental energy that flows through the cosmos and connects all living beings. Nature is not simply a subject represented in her paintings: it is an active force, an organic and spiritual intelligence with which the artist constantly dialogues. The pictorial gesture becomes the echo of the movements of life itself. The canvas therefore functions as a sensitive cartography of natural and human energies.
Another theme of importance is "Lucidity", which marks a return to the essence, where the brush seeks a perfect balance and emotion becomes matter. Far from superficial effusions, this artistic research is an invitation to detach from the superfluous and reconnect with the natural and the primal. Painting becomes an act of spiritual clarity, a stripped-back exploration of our inner truths. By simplifying form and densifying the gesture, the canvas acts as a revealer of consciousness, capturing the raw beauty of a world perceived without filters, with poignant honesty.

Alessandro Berni Gallery is pleased to announce Suspended She: Inner Tensions, a solo exhibition by Ribana Szutor, on view from May 21–31, 2026 at 511 West 25th Street, New York.

In this exhibition, Szutor explores tension as both image and atmosphere. A female presence emerges and disappears through layered abstraction, creating a space where the body, surface, and emotion remain in constant movement.

Her luminous surfaces unfold like an inner map-fragmented, reassembled, and suspended between visibility and disappearance.

✨ Opening Reception: Thursday, May 21 | 6–8 PM

✨Introducing our 2026 artists!

Alena Gojak Alena Gojak Art is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian painter and illustrator, recognized for her emotional, coloristic, and symbolic visual language. Through her work, she conveys deep messages and feelings, combining color, symbolism, and emotion into a unique artistic expression.

Born and raised in Sarajevo, she survived the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the 1990s, where she tragically lost her father and suffered a severe head injury. Her paintings reflect her struggle and her desire for a better life, freedom, peace, and a more harmonious world. Through her art, she depicts an ideal world seen through the eyes of a child, while simultaneously healing trauma and suppressed emotions. Today, her works are successfully used in art therapy, helping both children and adults to process emotions and promote well-being.

She studied painting, including traditional academic training in India, and further specialized in illustration. For over twenty years, she has been actively creating and exhibiting her work, which has been shown in global cities such as New York, London, Rome, Budapest, Vienna, and New Delhi, and is included in numerous private and public collections worldwide.

She is known for her work as a children’s book illustrator and for applying art in art-rehabilitation therapy, fostering creativity and empathy in both children and adults. She has collaborated with institutions such as the Novak Djokovic Foundation, the United Nations (UN), and UNDP, and she is also a brand ambassador for Audi in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Here are some of the works that will be on show at Alessandro Berni Gallery at San Francisco Art Fair, Booth E18, April 16-19, 2026.
