“Over the years, the pairs of marks became more dissimilar in color and shape; sometimes, especially in the 1980s, they increased in number and complexity, expanding into slurry, cursive gestures reminiscent of the artist’s early surrealist abstractions. They constitute some of Mr. Gorchov’s most elegant and suggestive works, as proved by his most recent show in New York, “Ron Gorchov: At the Cusp of the ’80s, Paintings 1979-1983,” at Cheim & Read in the fall of 2019.” — Roberta Smith

Thank you, , for this beautiful tribute to our artist and friend, Ron Gorchov, that will cement his legacy.

In loving memory of Ron Gorchov (1930 - 2020), the great artist and our dear friend.

We are saddened to share the news that Ron Gorchov passed away peacefully at the age of 90, at home surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

Together with Maruani Mercier, Thomas Brambilla, and Modern Art, and the artist’s studio, the gallery will organize an online gathering and memorial to celebrate the artist's life and work in the coming weeks.
