Sandy's thoughts on Tractor Tracks:
Rolling down the highway, between (Seattle) Washington and (Bend) Oregon on a chilly day, I spotted this lovely scene and could barely wait to get to the easel to investigate and create my sense of what I felt and saw.

Alicia's thoughts on Cotton Candy Clouds:
This painting is concentrated happiness for me. The roundabouts were being put in around Sharp’s Corner and Gibraltar Rd. My kids and I enjoyed the detours through the La Conner area. The sky was so electric over this field. It took a few paintings to get this one just the way I wanted it.

This painting is one that makes me feel as though I am sculpting with oils. I really enjoy using strong colors for an underpainting and being surprised by what it adds to the foreground. My family and I love hiking around Ebey's Landing. So many memories.
