A winter scene at Coulby Mansion, mid-1900s.

The room shown here, which faces east, was the breakfast room for the Coulby family.

In later years it served as the office of the Wickliffe Police Chief.

Today the room is the home of Wickliffe Historical Society.

LOUIS FRATINO (1928-2012)
Born in Wickliffe, Louis Fratino was a vital member of the Wickliffe Historical Society. For many years, Lou meticulously maintained hand-written indices of newspaper articles and photographs sourced from various locations. These indices correspond to four comprehensive binders containing historical facts and photographs. Due to his thoroughness, these indices remain a valuable resource for the Wickliffe Historical Society, facilitating research on Wickliffe's history, family information, and photographs.

Equally significant are Lou's extensive collections of photographs, taken by him over the years and well preserved in albums.

The Society’s President, Katherine Sintic Suglia, recently commented, “Lou was always interested in history and helped develop the Wickliffe Historical Society from its inception until his death. Many of the photos the Society has were taken by him.”

We will always be indebted to Louis Fratino for his contributions and dedication.

ANGELO FERRANTE was known for his talent, kindness, and the quiet strength he carried through life. His family roots ran deep in the neighborhood, thanks in large part to his presence and the store he ran -- Wickliffe Men’s and Boys’ Wear.

Angelo’s store was more than just a place to buy suits -- it was a gathering spot for many in the town. Customers came in not only for his fine craftsmanship but also for his warmth and genuine care for others. He was particularly skilled in making suits.

One of the most cherished family stories is how Angelo made Louise Buttari’s stunning dress for their wedding on April 3, 1936. That dress was a testament to his dedication to his family and his extraordinary ability to create something truly special for those he loved.
