Dear friends of Vytlacil,
Today was the last day of The Art Students League of New York​'s international residency program. Over the past 7 years, we have loved watching your projects take shape, seeing your determination, sharing your cultures and ideas and hopes and art. In our memories, we hold dear your laughter and struggles, your joys and ambitions as you lived them here as an artist-in-residence.

And now, our beloved Vytlacil campus will begin writing the next chapter of its story, wherever it leads. We are grateful you have been a part of this adventure and wish you the very best as you write your own creative futures. Thank you for helping us to tell the story - and letting us be a part of yours! - of The League Residency at Vyt.

The building is old and charming, and by the time I climb the four flights of stairs, I feel that I have entered a calmer environment. No matter what is going on in my life, I always walk into my studio space feeling relieved to be there.

Congrats to alum Kyle Hackett on the show “In my Likeness” a group show which features some of his most recent works. An artist’s reception and talk will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This is a satellite exhibition in conjunction with Artscape and the exhibition will be on display through August 14, 2016.
