Portraits of the Fallen Memorial

Portraits of the Fallen Memorial Honoring our Fallen Heroes from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan We are also developing a traveling exhibition as well as a digital memorial.

This is a public art project that desires to honor and remember our fallen by developing a comprehensive educational component to supplement the designed permanent memorial. This will be the first war memorial that depicts the faces, of these fine Americans , who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.

Now more than ever we as Americans need to reflect on the sacrifices that our volunteer military give freely for our democracy.
Those who served and did not return home are the best of us, true heroes.
Please take a few moment to look into the eyes of these bravest of American patriots- in the Portraits of the Fallen Memorial.

Dear Fellows,
The last two years have been challenging on so many fronts, with the recent deadly violence being committed with weapons that should only be use by skilled individuals and on the field of battle.
As a Veteran I was trained on the use of these lethal weapons and have a great respect for their power. The proliferation of weapons of war to the uneducated and mentally challenged is a cry for more dialogue.

We witnessed the not so kind withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan with the loss of over a dozen of our brave troops as well as the injuries of many others when an explosive device detonated near the airfield.

As the evacuation moved forward, Americans and the world watched and prayed for the safety of our service people and for the allies who served along side them.

Now we must come together and commemorate the service of all our troops-- as for this Memorial Day its our duty to reflect on the women and men who volunteered to serve, left our shores, but never returned.

We are a grateful nation for all who sacrificed everything for our democracy. We must never forget.

On this Memorial Day 2021 I spent most of the day in solace, reflecting on the great sacrifices our service women and men, who volunteered to serve us.

I also felt disappointment in my efforts to continue to match a hero with an artist for painting their portrait.

While I have had some health issues, which prevented me from working on the POTFMN, it is imperative to continue the process...there are over 800 California fallen Heroes to paint from the wars post 9-11.

Please help me by volunteering to do a painted portrait.
Send me a message, and I'll get right back to you.
