WHAT IF PISCATAWAY’S NEXT COMMUNITY LEADER IS READING THIS?

You don’t need a title.
You don’t need years of experience.
And you certainly don’t need to know everything about Piscataway history.

You just need to care about your community and be willing to step forward.

The Piscataway Historical & Heritage Society is looking for local residents interested in becoming more involved—and perhaps considering a leadership role with our Society for 2026–2027.

Leadership has a funny way of opening doors you never knew were there. You meet people. You discover abilities you didn't know you had. You become more connected to your community.

And sometimes the greatest result isn't what you accomplish.

It's who you become while doing it.

So here's our question:

If you could make ONE difference in Piscataway, what would it be?

👇 Tell us in the comments. We'd genuinely like to hear from you.

And if you're curious about getting involved with the Piscataway Historical & Heritage Society, comment “INTERESTED” or send us a message.

🏛️ We're Back! First Meeting Since Summer Break 🏛️

The Piscataway Historical Society is kicking off the fall season! Join President Dan Surman and Vice President Normande Browning for our first meeting since summer break.

📅 Tuesday, September 8 · 7:00 PM
📍 JFK Library

On the agenda: a look back at The Founding Families of Piscataway, 1666, plus 10 things you didn't know about the Runyon family.

We'll also share details on our Founders Day Luncheon at Historic Raritan Landing (Dec. 18), our Panera Bread fundraiser (Sept. 17), our booth at the Piscataway Bike Tour (Sept. 26), and a new project to map the town's historic homes — we need your help!

Curious about joining the board? We have open officer positions too.

Come share what historical spots you explored this summer — we can't wait to catch up!

History is not only preserved in museums and archives—it is carried forward by the next generation.

I'm proud to support Eagle Scout Candidate Aidan Crawley as he works toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout. His project will help preserve Piscataway's history by updating and digitizing Piscataway's Story, creating educational resources that will benefit local students, libraries, and our community for years to come.

If you have a few minutes on Saturday, June 20, please consider stopping by and supporting this worthwhile effort.

📅 Saturday, June 20
🕙 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 River Road Fire Company
102 Netherwood Avenue
Piscataway, NJ 08854

Every car wash helps bring this project one step closer to reality while helping preserve the story of our town for future generations.

Thank you for supporting Aidan's journey to Eagle Scout.
