The Fall of the Bison
Long ago, millions of bison ran free across the Great Plains of North America. For Indigenous people, the bison were more than food — they were life, spirit, and tradition.

But in the late 1800s, everything changed. The bison were hunted almost to extinction — not just for money, but to break the spirit of Native communities. The plan was simple and cruel: take away the bison, and the people would suffer.

From over 30 million bison, only a few hundred were left. The land grew quiet — a painful silence, hiding a tragic history.

Even today, that silence can still be felt. But there is hope. Indigenous communities are bringing the bison back. And with them, their strength, culture, and spirit are rising again.

Remembering Larry Sellers (1949–2021), a proud Osage actor, educator, and cultural advocate who left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and his community. Born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Sellers portrayed Native American characters with dignity and authenticity across numerous films and TV shows. His notable roles include Wayne's World 2, The Sopranos, and his Emmy-nominated performance as Cloud Dancing in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, where he appeared in over 70 episodes.
Beyond acting, Sellers dedicated himself to preserving Osage heritage by teaching the Osage language at the Osage Nation Language Department. His efforts ensured that future generations could connect with their cultural roots.
Larry Sellers’ legacy lives on, not only in his body of work but also in the hearts of those he inspired to honor and celebrate Native culture. If you’re ever in Pawhuska, the Osage Nation Museum offers an opportunity to explore this rich heritage.

I don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled recently in South Dakota.
It's called 'Dignity' and was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation.

Thought for todayBob Marley was once asked if there was a perfect woman. He replies :Who cares about perfection?
Even the moon is not perfect, it is full of craters.
The sea is incredibly beautiful, but salty and dark in the depths.
The sky is always infinite, but often cloudy.
So, everything that is beautiful isn't perfect, it's special.
Therefore, every woman can be special to someone.
Stop being "perfect", but try to be free and live, doing what you love, not wanting to impress others!

A TV presenter from New Zealand with a traditional Māori face tattoo hits back at a viewer after he said her markings were a "bad look"
Kanoa Lloyd, a TV presenter on TV3 New Zealand, used her social media platform to respond to this viewer. In an Instagram post, she wrote that her facial tattoo is a part of her identity and a means of preserving Māori culture. She argued that judging someone based on their appearance is disrespectful and unacceptable.
After making this post, Kanoa Lloyd received overwhelming support from the online community and other Māori individuals, who appreciated her defense and pride in her identity and culture. This highlighted the issue of respecting and preserving indigenous cultures, as well as the individual freedom of each person
