Piercing the Silence: Everyday Art of Resistance, is an exhibition that opened on Juneteenth of this year. Come see this incredible collection in person Thursdays- Saturdays 10-5 and Sundays 12-4.
The exhibit's purpose is to unveil the value of craftivism, resistance, and protest artworks and the people who created them. As for many, art is used to express a person’s inner emotions and as a way to externalize a lived experience. This exhibit will be on view until April 2027.
Today's image is "Mind, Heart, & Soul" by Caitlyn Cox, scales that represent the eternal dance between logic and emotion.

Our 5th MOB Challenge announced!!
"Currents & Tides: Beaded life in the ebb and flow" asks you to show us what moves you about the sea.
Our home state of Maine has almost 3500 miles of shoreline and for thousands of years people here have depended on the ocean and rivers for their very lives.
Whether it’s reefs and canyons, sharks and octopuses, or lobsters and whales, come board your ship of creativity and embark on a seaworthy adventure. We can’t wait to see what you create inspired by peaceful waters, churning storms, rising tides, flowing currents, teeming life, and the voyagers who dare to explore it all.

Please join us for First Friday as we welcome guest artist Tama Swain-Salomon!

Tama (Cliff) Swain-Salomon is an off-the-loom seed bead weaver known for creating pieces that mimic fine jewelry techniques. Their work combines engineered and organic structures to preserve cultural traditions and recount their personal journeys.

Their exhibit opened March 6th and will close September 6th, and tonight we will be celebrating their art, exhibit, and contributions to the beadwork community! As always we will also have wine & NA beverages, snacks, an open gallery, lively conversations, and free parking!

Three classes with Tama (Cliff) Swain-Salomon on September 5 & 6 in our very own Gallery, registration is required. Virtual class registration closes this weekend, but in-person will remain open until full.

Tama will be here in person to teach two half day workshops on the 5th and a full day class on the 6th! Not to mention also being the guest artist for our First Friday walk on September 4th.

People's Choice Winner announced!!

On July 9th we celebrated the opening of the Microbes & Mushrooms exhibit, since then visitors have had the chance to vote for their favorite piece in this 2026 Beadwork Challenge. We are very happy to announce that the winner is Sara Hall with her entry “Radiant Renewal: Yunzhi on Oak”. Congratulations!!
