Blythesbags, a local small business based in Redondo Beach, was founded in 2007ish by Blythe Peelor. All items are made by hand and with love all in my home office on one Husqvarna sewing machine. I have been sewing since I was 12, having learned on my grandmother’s 1932 Singer machine. In addition to tote bags and clothing and special requests from friends and neighbors, I have also made free-for
m quilts from t-shirts and reupholstered much of the furniture in my house, including two couches! Known for creativity, craftiness and knowledge of Art History (from college and work at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC), I am also a mom, wife, dog-lover, and an athlete (an Ironman and 6 marathons!). I am especially passionate about improving the lives of kids in our community by being a die-hard advocate for students in the local public schools. I always do whatever I can to help kids stay on the path to success and achieve the goals they set for themselves. Over the past couple years I’ve experimented with many different fabrics and styles, especially eye-catching recycled fabrics, including burlap coffee sacks. Be sure to ask about my gym bags made from recycled rice containers, and about the different sizes of the standard tote you see here, my most popular style. Blythesbags can be found and ordered online at Blythesbags.com, on Etsy and also on Facebook. Please contact me with any questions! Dimensions of totes are (approximately): 15.5" wide x 14" tall x 7.5" depth. "Approximate" because it depends on the fabric and how full you stuff it. Straps are (approximately) 22.5" long on each side. Key fobs can also be attached for an additional $5.
