Friends of Winedale Our mission is to support Miss Ima Hogg's vision for the Winedale Historical Center.

Friends of Winedale is a Texas non-profit corporation, tax-exempt under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, that will perform charitable activities in support of the Winedale Historical Center. These activities include a) the development of funding for the restoration and responsible maintenance of Winedale’s properties, collections, buildings and grounds; and b) the advancement and fostering of programs that support Miss Ima Hogg's vision for Winedale.

Octavio is the founder and director of VersoFrontera, publisher of Alabrava Press, and former Poet Laureate of San Antonio, Texas. His Frontextos (visual poems) have been published and exhibited widely. He teaches Literature and Creative Writing at Our Lady of the Lake University and was recently inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters.

Two of his three poetry collections have received special notice: The Book of Wounded Sparrows was longlisted for the National Book Award, and Las Horas Imposibles / The Impossible Hours won the 2024 Ambroggio Prize of the Academy of American Poets.

Join us for an afternoon of literature, art, and conversation with one of Texas’ leading voices in poetry.
