From my collection, this is: "Basilisk De Besos Amor"

Shop At: https://shop.artbymbutterfly.com

A tumult of curving forms arcs across the canvas, molten blues, coral pinks, and earthen browns weaving and overlapping. Layered brushwork sculpts each curl into a lively current, shifting the eye from dense, shadowed pockets to shimmering, translucent edges. Teal ribbons thread through coppery swirls while sudden magenta and turquoise flashes punctuate quieter, neutral zones. Thick, textured passages suggest tactile ridges, set against glossy stretches where pigment has been dragged and smoothed. The horizontal sweep implies wind or water without resolving into a literal scene; motion and form collide and harmonize at unexpected angles. Warm tones advance as cool hues recede, producing a restless, buoyant energy that propels the composition. Small highlights—pale lemon, slate undertones—create breathing points that invite prolonged looking rather than immediate judgment. On a broad, panoramic scale the piece holds its own as a commanding visual statement, suitable as either a dramatic centerpiece or a lively accent. It would bring color and movement to a living room, office, or reception area.

Where do you spend the most time? Does the art in that room actually reflect how much time you spend there?

The spaces we use most deserve the most thought.

On my mind lately: "Testimony"

"Great Migration" is one of the strong works in the catalog this spring.

Emerald and teal planes cascade across the surface, suggesting a submerged forest or the sweep of northern lights. Ridged, layered brushwork lifts feather-like forms that slope diagonally, while darker underlayers peek through like shadows beneath foliage. Patches of mottled turquoise break the rhythm, adding a powdered, almost mineral quality that contrasts with the sleeker, glossy sections.

Movement feels directional and urgent: angled marks push toward the upper right as if wind or current has shaped them. Light plays unevenly across the texture, catching on raised edges and leaving deeper areas matte and mysterious. The palette stays within cool tones, but shifts from deep viridian to vivid aquamarine create subtle temperature changes that keep the eye traveling.

Abstract yet suggestive, the piece invites multiple readings — kelp swaying below a surface, a cliff face streaked with lichen, or the flow of wind across grass. There’s a tactile presence; the surface seems to demand a closer look to appreciate its layered build and contrasts.

Suitable as a focal point, this work brings calm energy and depth to a living room, study, or reception area.
