"This photo required a lot of work. I stood on the roof of a liveaboard dive boat in the blistering heat while we circled Grace Island in Papua New Guinea. Coral heads on the bottom of the clear sea added dimension to the photo, as I intentionally kept the island in the background to give the impression that this paradise is the 'forbidded fruit'."

"A classic unmistakable shape, the essence of wilderness and free-roaming wild animals, grace, power and the perfection of eons of evolution." That's what this image of a Manta says to me. The photograph was made at Mexico’s Revillagigedos Islands several hundred miles south of Baja, one of the wildest and most exciting places on earth.

Nature demonstrates the symbiotic relationships that connect us all. A couple remoras flank the face of this approaching whale shark in Isla Mujeres. The remora rides along the whale shark in exchange for keeping the whale shark clean.

This huge colony of Pillar Coral on the East end of Cayman Brac is by far the largest I have seen in the Cayman Islands. Floating effortlessly past golden spires thrusting upward like magic castles, it’s hard not to image yourself in a magical land where anything can happen.
