We had an amazing spring break in San Fransisco. Cross country train ride was lot of fun and then rest of week in this amazing city. Our first Waymo ride and we got hooked. All commutes were in Waymo. Met with Uma Kant and his lovely family near Painted Ladies.

Auggie came back after 11 years as his last visit was when he was 5 and reconnected with first city he flew to after his birth. 🐣

Cross country spring break with Auggie & Trishla! 😀. Off from NY to San Fransisco on 3 nights and 4 day train ride on legendary train combinations of super-liner California Zephyr ( Zephyr & view-liner Amtrak 48, the Lakeshore Limited!

Half way in Chicago! Had great sleep and some nice food. They had butter chicken 🧈🐓 on menu! I was ready for no Indian food next 4 days but that was yummy! 😆

Excited for next 3 days traversing through most scenic train route of US lower 48! 😀😀😀 🚊🚞🚉🚂🚇🛤️🛤️🛤️

I was honored and delighted to attend (Glucksman Ireland House NYU) Gala this week. It was special as our own (Kate Barton) was honored with Lewis L Glucksman award for leadership. Kate after bringing EY tax to be number one tax practice globally has gone on to be CEO of Dentons, worlds largest global law firm.

Kate’s passion to foster young talent is well known. Many have benefitted from her sponsorship. Kate has supported (Shanti Bhavan project) in India which has enabled some of the poorest kids to experience an Ivy League dream education. They have gone on to accomplish amazing feats such as Princeton PhD, write books and inspire documentaries. Interacting with these students is an eye opening enlightening experience. They are some of the smartest I have ever met and come from most impoverished backgrounds.

The gathering at (Mandarin Oriental) New York was collection of life long accomplishments with representation of immigrants rising in every strata of American Society. Besides Kate’s family and friends gathering included Booker Prize winning author Roddy Doyle, Ireland’s Ambassador to US Geraldine Nason, Editor in Chief of Magazine (Irish America), Patricia Harty and icing on cake very accomplished and very talented Ms Sarah Jessica Parker ( ). It was great to see another EY legend (Lisa Lim), now a board member and advisor as well as Hannah Barton!

Many congratulations to Kate on her recognition and Ireland House & Chair Loretta Glucksman for hosting a wonderful evening.

New hires with oldest hire!

Friday we welcomed our winter 2026 tax new hire batch to EY in New York. For me who was the oldest hire in room it took me back 30 years when I was navigating college in a new country as an immigrant student all bright eyed and making my way towards public accounting to join Arthur Andersen. Determined to do quality work and build my brand.

The batch joining us this week reflects our future. Our future partners, future head of tax, business leaders and perhaps CEOs and hidden among them our future Chair. I was more than thrilled to be with this group.

Day includes meeting Terrence Hendricks & Michele Raber on entrepreneurial mindset & tips to have a successful career, panel with experienced members, role of talent consultants and a fun game of Bingo. My partner Greg Rose joined in addressing the group and emphasized the importance of being present as we spoke of quality, speed and building one’s brand.

Kudos to tax onboarding committee & volunteers (Antonella Aceto, Lucy (Qi Heng) Lian, Colleen Rauch, CPA, Aimulajiang Refati, CPA , Hannah Bruno, Lotta Russell , Veronica Plua , Malina Medeiros, Pablo Góngora Jerčić , Aaron Buie, Callie Keenan, Sonia Topi, & others) which does a tremendous job to pull together this tax orientation for our new joiners.

Winter wonderland! We got most snow in last two days this year. Great steady snow creating beautiful vista all around our neighborhood! I don’t think we have had this nice snow in last few years.

We all loved playing in snow and even Mars joined!

It’s holiday lunch time at 1 Manhattan West for our NYC tax team. I was delighted to host more than 300 tax professionals who showed up at our holiday lunch this past Wednesday. Thanks to Marc Ganz, for joining me in rallying the team.

We reflected on importance of break with upcoming holidays. We so much appreciate all the great work our team does. Happy Holidays!

Senior Managers in our profession are cornerstone of client delivery and talent enhancement. It’s a rank that fuels growth and embodies future Partners and Managing Directors. This past Monday braving elements a big cohort of our Tax Senior Managers met at our Manhattan West offices.

We celebrated the group & recognized outstanding senior managers who connected with our clients in a meaningful way. Congratulations to Steven Grill, CPA; Brendan Walsh; Rehan Gonsalves, CPA; & Molly Mahony, CPA who stood out. Our Americas Vice Chair Tax Martin Fiore addressed the group and handed out winning plaques.

Earlier in day our NY Office Managing Partner Alysia Steinmann flagged off the meeting. It was action packed fun meeting with lot of networking and team building. Our experienced Senior Managers shared their success stories with the group. They included Santosh HEGDE; Devon Kulp, CPA; Leah Yatkowitz, CPA; Jesse Cohen, J.D., LL.M.; Geni D.; Lua Scarlata; & Yigal Harkavy!

My partner Michelle Vice lead the charge in driving the session with our focus on Senior Manager career growth. Michelle moderated a client panel of esteemed client leaders who gave valuable tips. We walked away even more determined to serve our NY market.
