🏳️🌈 Happy Pride! This month is all about celebration, visibility, and love in all its forms, so what better time to spotlight a piece that turns a kiss into something eternal?
Meet Greg Climer (Greg Climer), chair of the fashion program at California College of the Arts and the artist behind "Animated Quilt Film."
Greg filmed his friends Nathan and Bryan sharing a kiss, then broke it down into 36 frames. Each frame became a quilt, pieced together from a bitmap of the digital film. Once stitched, the quilt was photographed again, turning it back into a, a five-second looped video that plays on endlessly.
It's a beautiful full-circle process, a fleeting moment between two people, made physical through fabric, then returned to the screen as something infinite.
✨ Celebrate SF Pride Week with us! Come see "Animated Quilt Film" and the rest of "Video Craft" on view at MCD through August 16. Tickets at the link in bio!
