We’re honored to have been entrusted with the preservation of a wonderful man’s legendary Marin history photo collection. Chuck Ford passed away in May of this year after a life filled with mentoring students and both taking photos (he spent over two decades as a professional photographer before becoming a teacher) and gathering historic photos of the county. His vast Marin history photo collection spans the late 1800s into the mid 1900s. This rarely seen view shows pre-Woodacre and the greater San Geronimo Valley as it looked in 1911. Thank you, Chuck.

Happy New Year, all. We are grateful to have been selected for digitization assistance by California Revealed, a program of the State Librarian. We look forward to sharing the results of the partnership - dozens of scanned landscape images of the San Geronimo Golf Course (now San Geronimo Commons) before, during, and after the course’s construction. Digitization is so important for physical materials for which there is only one hard copy, which is the case for these slides taken by donor Rex Noah - who grew up in the Valley. We’re sending hope to the people and archives of Los Angeles in the face of the devastating fires affecting the city.
