My first month in NYC couldāve been a sitcom.
In just 4 weeks, I moved 3 times and lived in 3 completely different parts of the city.
That first situation? Total chaos.
I unknowingly rented from someone truly dangerous and unstable.
I wonāt get into all the detailsābut I stayed calm under pressure, got smart fast, documented everything, and took the right steps at the right times.
By day 14, law enforcement got involved and the situation was handled.
It was a hell of a chapterāand it showed me exactly what Iām capable of. I didnāt know before.
But Welcome to NYCāit will test youābut if you let it, the pressure will turn you into something unshakable.
The good news? I have incredible people here who showed up for me in ways that blew me away. And even while navigating all that madness, I was still out here living.
I danced till 4am at House of Yes, got invited to an SNL afterparty, met Governor Pataki, hit a punk show at Tompkins Square Park, acted in a promo shoot, sat front row at a live podcast taping, and went to some amazing music and art shows. Oh, and recovery out here is next levelā I got deeply plugged in right away.
Yeah, I went through the wringerābut I stand much taller because of it. Iāve never grown so much, so fast. Iām proud of how I handled it all. Honestly, Iām in awe.
Iām safe now. In a peaceful home with an incredible roommate (also in recovery).
My catās good. Iām good. And Iām just getting started.
Now that Iām standing on solid ground, Iām ready for everything I came here for.
