“Through my artwork, I want to inspire people to learn more about the Native American cultures and their appreciation of life and nature. When I’m in a beautiful place, I can’t help but think about the Creator, and I’m grateful for what He has given to us.” - Raymond Nordwall

Malcolm Furlow spoke with color. His paintings are built from strong, chromatically fragmented combinations that make his expressionist compositions of Native American themes vibrate with feeling. His figurative works are not portraits of individuals but statements about the human condition, images that use the particular to reach for the universal. The brightness and energy of his palette are not ornamental but expressive, the visual equivalent of the emotional and cultural urgency that drove his practice.

For over two decades, Elias Rivera has captured the energy of streets and marketplaces from Santa Fe to Guatemala, Mexico, and Peru in richly detailed, cinematic paintings. Each piece freezes a fleeting moment—figures in motion, conversations unfolding, traditions quietly expressed.

His use of color and composition—how figures are placed and interact—creates a sense of depth and presence that feels far bigger than the canvas.

Stop by the gallery to experience these vibrant, stunning works in person. We’re open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Navajo artist Tony Lee is an award-winning sculptor whose work has been collected nationally for over three decades. A graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, his artistic journey began with early inspiration from his parents’ silversmithing. He later served as assistant sculptor to renowned artist Allan Houser, shaping his path in fine art.

Lee’s powerful sculptures have earned numerous honors, including Best of Show at the Inter-Tribal Art Exhibition and the Governor’s Choice Award at the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial—reflecting a career defined by creativity, skill, and cultural expression.

“I make pottery to keep San Felipe traditions alive. It’s important to me that people know that San Felipe pottery exists.” – Joseph Latoma

Joseph and Nona Latoma create pottery together as a way of preserving their culture and passing it on to their family. Joseph is known for his polychrome ollas, formed using a traditional hand-coiling technique, and he has taught Nona and their children—Dustin, Jaylene, Dalon, Janalyn, and Damon—how to continue this practice.

For Joseph, teaching pottery is also a way of teaching identity. Each piece carries meaning, with designs carefully chosen to reflect the style and story behind the work rather than decoration alone. Because there is little recorded history of San Felipe pottery, Joseph draws from the memories of Pueblo elders from San Felipe and Zuni to guide his designs. While they often collaborate on each piece, Nona’s attention to detail and precision have helped her grow into a skilled potter in her own right.

“Moon Passing Time With Teepee” is part of Jill Shwaiko’s extensive collection that explores minimalist Southwestern motifs. The work features a single vibrant red tipi set against a dark, textured night sky with three glowing yellow moons.

Her art is inspired by ancient Anasazi petroglyphs and the landscapes of the American Southwest. She often uses the tipi form as a symbol of shelter, spirituality, and connection.

Jill studied art at the University of Wisconsin and earned her MFA from the University of Iowa. Her style is minimalist and modernist, focusing on geometric forms and high-contrast color palettes.
