Barb Flye Mosaics

Barb Flye Mosaics A place to view Barb's mosaic works of art, and if inspired inquire about purchasing. My art is personal, and often political. I have no formal art training.

It provides me with a much needed outlet for the events of our time. Some of my mosaics capture the beauty of nature, particularly of the Pacific Northwest where I live. Others aim to address issues I care deeply about such as racial, social and economic justice and climate change. My professional background includes over 30 years of organizing and public policy work in the progressive movement. I

n 2009, I attended a beginners mosaic art class at Seattle Mosaic Arts, and made my first mosaic art piece, a candle holder followed by a garden stone. At that point, it was just a hobby and I was working mega hours, and so seldom made my way to the studio. In 2018 I started creating mosaic art again, with gusto! I enjoy the complete occupation of the mind, and the effort of my hands to create an image or concept I can mentally imagine. I like using a lot of different materials in my mosaic art: glass, porcelain, ceramic, stone or “found” objects. At some point that rusty nail is going to be just the thing a work of art may need! If you see something you’re interested in purchasing, send me a message! Thank you for visiting my website!
